I Want an Omni Hook!

I am a stroller mom all the way! My daughter is more comfortable sitting in her stroller than a shopping cart and I don't have to constantly tell her to "sit down, there is no standing in shopping carts." I love the idea of being able to hook a shopping basket to the stroller. I came across this great website than has THE cutest products and also very practical.

The omni hooks from Baby Glam Boutique are stylish and SO practical. I love them and will be placing an order very soon.

"This versatile clip is more than the perfect stroller accessory! Attach to grocery carts, backpacks ... even a golf bag! Easily holds bags, purses and keys ... Great for holding anything & everything! Perfect anywhere an extra hook is needed! Won’t break like plastic hooks & clips, and closes to keep items secure. Made from anodized aluminum with strong velcro closure. Choose from 6 unique styles."

Not Your Typical Pink or Blue Nursery

When I found out I was having a little girl, I was ecstatic to say the least. I had always dreamed of having my little girly girl. Of course my mind went straight to designing her room but the thought of a pink room personally made me cringe. I am not a huge pink fan, although I have gotten much better and realize I prefer a hot pink for my daughter. I decided to design her room in green with pink accents which turned out beautiful.

Designers and families are starting to take a new, creative, and bold approach in creating a special room for babies. FINALLY, someone else realized pink and blue are not the only colors for babies. We are starting to see more modern color schemes which include gray, orange, yellow, brown, black, and different shades of purple. Here are a few of my favorites!

I suppose I'm on a Babies R Us kick today. They have brought in some really great new products. I personally had a hard time designing my daughter's nursery because I couldn't find any modern and affordable furniture at the time. I am so happy that Babies R Us is really stepping forward to appeal to all design styles.

Does your Daughter Have Dad Hair

dadhair (dad-hār) n. A style in which hair is arranged so that it is obvious that an unskilled stylist (namely the male paternal figure) is responsible. Syn. DISASTER, TRAGEDY

When my daughter was a baby my boyfriend asked in all seriousness "how am I going to do her hair when she is older." At the time I thought it was absolutely hilarious, thinking to myself, you just do it. After thinking about it, I realize it is a completely new territory for a guy. Guys have no idea how to make a straight part, put hair up into pig tails, or into a pony tail. I may have to get this book for him as a stocking stuffer for Christmas!

Craig Lawrey's book, "Does Your Daughter Have DADHAIR? A step-by-step guide for Dads," teaches Dads how-to manage their daughter' hair. Using color photographs, hints, tips, and psychology of the father-daughter bond, he humorously makes light of and helps abolish Dadhair. A book written by a real Dad for real Dads.

Tired of Strangers Wanting to Touch or Even Kiss Your Baby?

Some might call me a germaphobe and I am completely fine with that. When I was pregnant with my daughter everyone kept warning me about strangers coming up and touching the baby without even asking. Well, a few weeks before my due date I was cruising the mall and saw a lady with new twins girls. Attached to their car seats were these amazing little signs that read "Please Wash your Hands Before Touching Mine." I thought it was absolutely genius and had to find out where their mother purchased them. I went home immediately and purchased two from My Little hands and recommend them to any new or expecting mom. With the swine flu crazy, I think this is an essential for any baby.

Home Sweet Walls

Personally, I am getting a little sick of seeing the wooden letters spelling out baby's name in every nursery. I still love the idea of having baby's name in the room but was just looking for another creative idea to go about it. I came across Home Sweet Walls etsy shop and found some great wall decals at very reasonable prices. Also, the train chalk board(available in other shapes) is a great and fun way for your child draw on the wall or for you to write chores or little notes to you child.

Decorate the Walls

The walls sometimes get forgotten when designing and decorating a room. Paint is a very inexpensive way to really dress up the room. With a little paint and my new favorite accessory, wall decals, your room will really come to life. These are some great wall decals I found from Modern Wall Graphics.

Fabric Flowers

I came across this nursery on HGTV and love the fabric flowers on the wall. The flowers give the wall a three dimensional look that really creates a beautiful focal point for the room.

Stylish Floor Pillows

Who would have thought so much of your time as a mom would be sitting on the floor? There have been so many times I am sitting indian style reading books, doing puzzles, playing catch or baby dolls with my daughter and I realize I can't feel my foot. As that tingling sensation takes over my entire foot, I hop up in hopes that it will magically disappear so we can continue playing.

These stylish floor pillows by Tiny Decor are the answer to all my problems! What a fantastic idea and why didn't I think of it? :) Not only are the patterns beautiful to be displayed in the nursery, playroom, or even family room but they are also eco-friendly. Here are a few of my personal favorite colors- Blueberry, Raspberry, and Basil.

Stella McCartney has teamed with Baby Gap and revealed a beautiful collection of pint size adult clothes. You all know where I will be this weekend!
